What’s new in WagTab

What shops got, week by week. Every shop gets each change the same day, on the same $40 plan.

Week of October 19

Switching got a proof step and a reader for messy spreadsheets, tips can be shared, and visits got before and after photos.

Bring over any spreadsheet, however messy
WagTab finds the headers, sheets and tables itself, splits cells like “Pepper - doodle - 45 lb”, and reads Excel, old .xls, Numbers and OpenDocument files. When it isn’t sure, it asks one plain question with your real rows as examples.
Choose how tips are shared
All to the groomer who did the dog, a share for an assistant, a split by job, or a daily pool by hours or evenly. The shop never keeps a cut, and a change only counts from the next day on.
Before and after photos
Take them from the visit. They show on the client’s report card and receipt, and clear themselves after 90 days. Turn them off in Settings.
Open bookings before you open the doors
Set your first day open, and the booking page takes visits from that day on, with “Opening” and the date at the top.
Check an import against your old app
After you bring your clients over, WagTab puts the old app’s file beside what it saved: clients, dogs, visits, vaccines, services and retail. Where a number differs, it says why, and a tap shows which ones.
Imported visits stay quiet until you check
Booked visits that came over send no reminders or confirmations until you look over the calendar and tap Looks right.
Balances listed, so none get lost
Deposits, package and gift-card balances and store credit in the old file are listed by client, to type in before you turn the old app off.
A live “on the way” link for vans
The On my way text ends with a link. The client sees when the van will arrive, and the van on a map while the groomer shares it.
Search that finds more
A search box across the top on a computer and a Search button on phones. Find a ticket by number or any setting, or type “check in Luna” or “clock in”.
Your booking page in Spanish, in your words
What you write for the booking page, from the banner to service names, is put into Spanish when you save. Fix any line in Settings.
Clients see their waiting requests
A client’s page lists the booking requests the shop hasn’t answered yet, and they can cancel one. A short summary shows before they send.
Your booking page on Today
Owners and managers see it under the day’s visits, with Edit, Open and Copy link.
“Late” by your shop’s clock
Today and the grooming board call a dog late by the shop’s own time, after the minutes you pick in Settings.
How client pages look is your call
Booking, receipts and forms can match each client’s phone, or stay light or dark.
One step per screen on the booking page
The dog, then services, then a time, then the client’s details, with Back and Next.
First and last names
Separate boxes everywhere a person is added: sign-up, the team and logins.
Light or dark from the first sign-in
Each person picks light, dark or match this device. Change it any time in My settings.
Receipts use the whole screen on a computer
The receipt on the left; tip, review and book-again on the right. Phones stay one column.
Nearest open times when you drag a visit
Drop a visit where it clashes and the times that work show under the warning. One tap moves it, with Undo.
Client settings on the Clients page
Online booking, texts, waivers and receipts open from the Clients page, where you’d look for them.
Vans in the same calendar
A column per van with its driver, service areas by zip code or miles, and a booking page that asks the address first and offers only times a van can reach.
Vans keep working with no signal
Phones keep the day and send changes when the signal is back. Van mileage and costs go in the books for taxes.
Reminder emails that send themselves
With Confirm and Cancel buttons, and a second one only to clients who haven’t confirmed.
Your menu, your order
Each person hides the pages they don’t use and drags the rest into their own order.
Time off, spa days and extra charges
Staff ask for time off and you answer. Spa days built from your services. Matting and difficult dogs charged by minutes or by level.
Set up your shop on your own
Sign up at wagtab.com with no card. Free for 30 days while you set it up.
